Imbusa is a traditional Bemba ceremony consisting of ancient rules, rituals, and precepts used to initiate marital partnership and establish familial values between new couples. Historically, Imbusa ceremony objects are destroyed after use and the traditions and practices of Imbusa are passed discreetly from one generation to the next. Wayi Wayi provides an opportunity for research and understanding of the traditional Imbusa ritual through the library, sculptural imagery, and guided tours.
Agnes and Lawrence offer Imbusa ceremony services at Wayi Wayi.
